Q.

What is the cost of a new BearWhip 2000 conveyor belt cleaner?

A.

That depends on the width of your belt...the wider the belt the more the acquisition cost.

But, that’s probably the least of your costs, because of the savings you’ll get with BearWhip 2000.

Cost you don’t pay for directly “out-of-pocket” are:

  • Lost product
  • Manual cleanup
  • Wear and tear on idlers and pulleys downstream
  • Cleaner adjustment costs

They can add significantly to your acquisition costs – and are eliminated when you install a new BearWhip 2000.

For acquisition costs for your conveyor belts, contact Grotto's Tool Works directly, or call your local distributor.

Q.

How do I know which model BearWhip 2000 I need?

A.

The BearWhip 2000 conveyor belt cleaner provides a single design for ALL applications. The only variable is the width of your belt.

Q.

Will I need special assistance to install my new BearWhip 2000 conveyor belt cleaner?

A.

The BearWhip 2000 is shipped fully assembled and simply bolts into place...only four bolts! Complete and easy to follow instructions and diagrams are provided so that your maintenance personnel can install the new cleaner.

Q.

My conveyor belts operate at a fast speed...more than 1,000 fpm...will the BearWhip 2000 work for me?

A.

The BearWhip 2000 will clean efficiently on both slow speed belts (less than 100 fpm) and fast speed belts (more than 1,000 fpm) and anything in between.

Q.

Where can my BearWhip 2000 be installed?

A.

Most BearWhip 2000 cleaners are installed under the discharge or head pulley, but they can be installed anywhere on your conveyor belt – see illustration below.

BearWhip 2000 Installations

Q.

My head pulley is "crowned." Will my BearWhip 2000 effectively clean my belt?

A.

Yes! BearWhip 2000 strands are spring mounted and automatically adjust to the shape of your pulley or your belt’s shape.

Q.

How long will BearWhip 2000 cleaning strands work for me?

A.

The BearWhip 2000 cleaning plates are tungsten carbide (except for food applications), therefore, depending on the abrasiveness of the material you are conveying, you’re going to get six months on average of cleaning from one side of your cleaning plates. After the “top half” wears down, simply rotate the cleaning plate 180° on the strand and you have a new “top half” cleaning surface.

Q.

How difficult is the installation of new cleaning strands when needed?

A.

Individual cleaning strands snap easily into position manually without the use of tools.

Q.

I’ve got a “Pre-BearWhip 2000” cleaner and it works great! I don’t want to change it out. Can I buy replacement strands for it?

A.

Yes! Grotto’s Tool Works supports all previous BearWhip designs. All A-12; B-12; A-18; B-18; A-26 & B-26 strands, Front Cross Bars, Rear Cross Bars and Side Bar replacement parts are available. Contact us for price and availability.
